| WHAT IS PRK? |
PRK or (photorefractive keratotomy) is
usually reserved for patients who wish to have LASIK
but have insufficient corneal thickness.
It is, essentially the exact same procedure as LASIK, done without the
flap-making process. The epithelium, or skin on the
front of the eye, is gently removed and the
underlying tissue is re-shaped with the excimer
laser.
A contact lens is placed on the eye for several days until the epithelium
grows back.
PRK and LASIK share many of the same FAQ’s. For more information, please

During your free evaluation, the surgeon will discuss with you whether
PRK is the best procedure for you and discuss all
risks and benefits.
