If you know someone who has traveled far away for any medical treatment, then you know how hard it can be to arrange and plan for the journey. We are conveniently located in Gainesville to help you manage all of your eyecare needs with our surgery center attached to our whole practice. We manage patients with LASIK, cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, lid disorders, retina treatment and more. This makes everything easier for you with a one stop eyecare shop.
In our surgery center at Advanced Eye Center, we offer the best technologies along with an exceptional staff. From check in, to pre-op, to surgery and post-op, we believe in placing patient care first. Instead of entering the building on the right-side as for your exam or glasses, you will enter on the left for surgery the day of your procedure. We have a calm pre-op room and then patients proceed to the procedure waiting area. Our nurses and technicians help to assist with any questions and fears. We have extra pillows and blankets to help keep you warm but do recommend you wear warm long sleeve button up shirts, warm pants and socks as the environment must be kept cool.
Prior to your procedure day you will likely have a preop visit with one of our nurses. They will do a detailed health history as well as check your blood pressure, heart rate, and oxygen. With IV sedation there are important precautions and systemic checks the nurse must go through before you are cleared for surgery. This is an important step before your procedure to be sure you have a safe and easy experience.
We are dedicated to bringing you the safest procedure for the best results. Here in our surgery suite we are using the latest LenSx femtosecond laser for cataracts surgery and excellent microscopes for the doctors to see their best. All our staff and doctors work hard to give you a great experience and your best vision.
We have comfortable seats and plenty of room in our waiting area. You won’t have to worry about your driver during your stay. We have wi-fi, a snack machine, and a drink machine. There’s a beautiful green space out front as well if your driver would prefer to wait outdoors.
